It is the second-largest country in the world but has a sparse population. Canada has been consistently ranked as one of the world’s best place to live in.

It is also increasingly becoming a favorite education hub, with many international students in various cities. The higher education system in Canada is similar to that of the US.
The Canadian higher education system consists of public-funded universities, privately-run universities and community colleges. A bachelor’s degree is normally completed in 4 years and a post-graduate degree in 2 years. Canada is also popular among students who want to complete short duration courses like certificate and diploma programs. All the programs offered have strong student support services, small classes, and a healthy campus environment.

The application process to apply for an undergraduate degree, some Canadian universities will ask for SAT scores. And for a graduate degree, you may be asked for either GRE or GMAT scores, depending on the program you are applying to. You will also be required to submit an English proficiency score…either IELTS or TOEFL. Additionally, students will be asked to submit transcripts, personal statement, recommendation letters, and a resume.

In general, studying in Canada is less expensive compared to the US and the UK. Average tuition fees in Canada for international undergraduate student’s starts at about CA$14,000 per year. Postgraduate fees can be in the range between CA $ 25,000 to 30,000 annually. Universities in Canada set their own fees, and the cost of the study also depends on the type of course and the subject you select.
Scholarships are available, but they can be hard to find and rarely cover the full cost of a study program. Obtaining a scholarship is tough, competitive and based on merit. Financial assistance for undergraduate students is generally in the form of a scholarship or tuition waiver; and for graduate students, it can be tuition waivers, various types of assistantships or fellowships. Canada is picturesque, friendly, tolerant and multicultural. As a student, apart from studying, students will definitely have a lot to do there.
