A physiotherapy is an approach to prevent and to facilitate recovery from stress or trauma through carefully planned physical exercises to improve or relieve physical problems. It involves mobilizing the neck and the upper back which are usually stiff with neural stretches to lengthened contracted nerve which appears to cause pain. They help in the healing process of fractured and sprained bones, neurological disorders caused by trauma, infection, paralyzes, etc. with the use of therapeutic agents like heat, radiation, electricity, water massages and exercises to cure weak muscles and restore joint moments.

To seek entry for this course, one must pursue 10+2 in Science stream with subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Biology for the Board exams as well as their Entrance exams. One can apply for a Diploma course straight after class Twelfth which may be of two years duration. If not diploma, one has a choice of completing their Bachelors by clearing their relevant entrance exams. The course duration is of four years. Further one can pursue his Masters followed by M.Phil. or Ph.D. or find out a job for themselves.

Personality traits are also essential to be successful in this field, such as an organized and systematic way of working with patients, understanding attitude, professionalism with patience, care, good communications skills, confidence, and coordination skills. After completing Bachelors or Masters various jobs are available for physiotherapists. One can apply in various hospitals and clinics, Government hospitals or Private hospitals, one can start working as a freelancer, can work in factories or cooperates, can join various health clubs or rehabilitation centres, can work with special schools, sports clinics and fitness centres or one can join various universities or colleges and start teaching thereafter. The increasing sedentary urban lifestyle and lack of exercise bring on a whole gamete of body aches and pains which requires the assistance of specialized physiotherapists. Physiotherapists are high in demand in India and abroad. It is one of the fast-growing allied health care professions.
