There are various diplomas, degrees and postgraduate courses in this field. In addition to these courses, students can opt for certain management degrees if they are interested in Administrative profiles. Also, there are various certification courses in a few selected domains, which can be taken after class 10th or class 12th. One may have to clear Entrance exams, Group discussion & personal interview to get an entry in Degree or Masters Program. Hotel management includes specializations like food and beverage, housekeeping, front office, sales, and marketing. Along with the required qualification one also needs to have certain personality traits like one need to be adaptable, have patience, and have a pleasing personality, excellent conversational or communication skills and perseverance. There are a various department or industries like the airline industry, cruise liners, catering department of railways, shipping companies, restaurants and resorts, clubs, guest houses, one can also work in Education and tourism sector. As the economy continues to evolve and people have more disposable income in hand, the travel, tourism and hospitality sector has witnessed a phenomenal growth. If you have the right attitude and personality, the hospitality industry provides ample opportunities.
