About ICSE Boards
Ms. Swati Salunkhe speaks about ICSE – Indian Certificate of Secondary Education. The Council for Indian School Certificate is the governing body for the ICSE (10th) and ISC (12th) exams. The Academic year starts between March and June and ends between February and April. There are different standards in ICSE Schools like Pre-School, Primary, Middle School, Secondary and Higher Secondary. The curriculum is designed by a respective division of ICSE and ISC boards. The board also allows the schools to select their own textbooks. The medium of instruction is English and student should secure minimum 40% marks. There are various subjects offered in ICSE Schools like Maths, English, Science, Social Science etc. It emphasizes on overall development of a student and gives equal importance to academic and non academic activities. ICSE board curriculum is well researched and encourages critical thinking. The level of English is comparatively higher than other boards and also prepares students for studying abroad.
